She must. She had said "Au revoir!" Not good-bye! What luck that she had dropped her handkerchief! He would never have known her but for that. And the more he thought of that handkerchief, the more amazing his luck seemed. Fleur! It certainly rhymed with her! Rhythm thronged his head; words jostled to be joined together; he was on the verge of a poem.'
Переводчики решили, что повторенное дважды her и есть для Джона (взятая в невидимые кавычки) буквально рифма к Fleur ("Флер! Какие рифмы напрашивались к этому имени!" в первом случае, и даже полностью выдуманное "Флер! Рифмуется с "костер"" во втором). На самом же деле в устах человека с RP (и, стало быть, в его ушах) her звучит так, что сильнее всего рифмуется с are - но никак не с французским fleur, где другая гласная и явственное r на конце.
Rhymed with her - всего лишь 'с ней гармонировало'.
Не говоря уж о том, что "стихи" Джона рифмы лишены вовсе.
