He is not often in the dreams
of little girls and maidens fair;
his charms all come to naught, it seems,
when youth and beauty fill the air.

He waits in silence, lies at bay,
as he averts the icy stare,
while chosen charges day by day
are warming to his gentle care.

He softly woos complacent brides
with silver braided in their hair
and safely into haven guides
where, summon'd to his spendour'd lair,

they mutely heed the final call --
and then Sir Death accepts them all.

Да, действительно странно, я ведь за это время как раз с пратчеттовским Смертью познакомился, но совершенно не связал.

Впрочем, это же стилизация, то есть - оружие узконаправленное.
